The Faculty of Architecture Building and Planning at the University of Melbourne seeks to appoint a postdoctoral research fellow to conduct interdisciplinary research across the faculty and within its rural, remote and indigenous landscapes research direction. The disciplines involved may include: landscape architecture, planning, geodesign/geomatics or cultural and natural heritage.

The rural, remote and indigenous landscapes research initiative focuses on landscapes and communities beyond the urban realms of major capital cities and including regional centres, small settlements, rural or remote communities and/or places which are predominantly defined by rural activities, indigenous cultures, natural systems and/or combined with other cultural activities of the past or present. Places of interest could be undergoing radical change or transformation and thus may exist at the point of transition to varying degrees of urbanisation.
