DESIGNER – SUSTAINABLE CONSULTING EXPERTISE (Sidney, AU)
McLennan Design is seeking mid-level designers to join its growing practice. Design positions will be available either in the office located on Bainbridge Island, Washington or in Sydney, Australia. Australian resident or work visa is preferred.
McLennan Design is a highly collaborative and dynamic team of professionals focused on merging design, building performance and research. Our work consists of architecture, urban design and interiors, consulting and industrial design projects domestic and abroad. The firm is anchored by Jason F McLennan, founder of the International Living Future Institute, and partners Tom Knittel and Dale Duncan, with a combined vision to integrate environmental and social regeneration through net zero and socially just works. The ideal candidate should have passion, commitment and enthusiasm for these broad concerns and be equally capable to explore them.
Candidates should have six-eight years of post-graduation experience and be curious, critical-thinking, creative, collaborative, and a clear communicator. Demonstrated experience leading sustainable design projects with an ability to attain a full understanding of the Living Building Challenge is important. Candidates for the Sydney office should have an understanding of GreenStar and Nabers. The ability to participate in multiple projects at once is desired. The right candidate will also have advanced knowledge of project design and design representation. Experience with multiple design tools and the development of computer models and renderings to convey conceptual design ideas is a requirement for this role. Knowledge and experience working with Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, and Adobe Creative Suite will be important.
