Based in the College’s School of Architecture and reporting to the pro-rector, the dean of architecture will provide academic leadership, and will take responsibility for academic direction, vision and strategic direction of the school; for the development and delivery of high quality teaching, research and knowledge exchange; to ensure the effective management of staff and deployment of resources towards the RCA’s strategic aims; to increase and diversify the sources for earned income; and to develop collaboration and partnerships with external bodies, the full range of industries related to the School of Architecture’s disciplines, and academic and professional networks.

The successful candidate will be a recognised academic in the field of architecture and/or related disciplines with an international reputation supported by a portfolio of design work, exhibitions, academic research (rated as 3* or 4*) and publications. With strong interpersonal skills and academic leadership qualities, the post-holder will have excellent team-building ability in order to continue to develop the School of Architecture, and meet key strategic objectives in the college’s strategic plan and developing academic vision.

You will have an energy and enthusiasm for the student experience, and be able to work well across teams within the RCA and within the School of Architecture.
