TENURE-TRACK ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE

Tenure-Track assistant professor in Landscape Architecture (reference: 201400020). Applications are invited for a tenure-track appointment as assistant professor (post B) in the Division of Landscape Architecture of the Faculty of Architecture, from 1 August 2014, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and with consideration for tenure during the second fixed-term contract.
Applicants should have a professional degree in Landscape Architecture or a closely related field, and preferably full membership in a recognised professional landscape architecture institute. Preference may be given to those holding a Ph.D. degree who can demonstrate innovative teaching and design skills and have a track record of research in Landscape Architecture.
We are interested in design educators with a mulitdisciplinary background who can bring additional expertise in areas such as living systems technologies, material explorations, and landscape management regimes that can enhance the Division’s focus on urban, industrial and infrastructural landscapes. The appointee will be required to teach design and supervise research postgraduate students. They will also be required to undertake administrative/development work for the landscape architecture programme(s), and produce relevant high-quality academic research output. The appointee will direct and lead the sequence of courses related to landscape representation at multiple scales (including fabrication, simulation, GIS, etc.) within both undergraduate and postgraduate landscape programs, and integrate digital media into the Division’s teaching curricula and research initiatives.
